The first Friday of each month, from May through October, drivers get together to take over the streets of Saint Cloud. Starting in 2017, the First Friday Cruise Night has been a hit for local car enthusiasts, averaging 35 to 40 cars a night and peaking near 65 – filling the Chick-fil-A parking lot with classics, new and old muscle, even scooters!
Some of the greatest ideas start with a need, for Dean – the founder of the First Friday Cruise, that need was to drive his classic Ford and to connect with other car people.
Seasoned cruisers will remember cruising Division Street, hanging out in ShopKo parking lot, Burger King and Midas…anywhere they wouldn’t get kicked out – the First Friday Cruise is similar but it’s all about getting out and driving, meeting other car people and simply enjoying cars – classics to modern.
The First Friday Cruise has become such a great success and Dean has come to realize that he would like to step back and let local car clubs, with more resources, take over the logistics of organizing the monthly cruise.
New to the 2020 season, Muscle Car Mafia and NextX Car Club will tag-team the event hosting every other month and plan different cruise routes. These cruises could be to a local car show, a drive out to the country and back or simply to flood Division Street with hot rods reminiscent of the Bad Boyz Car Show.
To join the First Friday Cruise, meet at 6pm in the parking lot at Crossroads Mall between Caribou Coffee and Chick-fil-A. There will be a car meet for about an hour and then we hit the road at 7pm. All years, makes, & models are welcome.
The first Friday of each month from May – Oct we will cruise the streets of St. Cloud. Check the page for meeting times and locations. (Cruise dates are subject to change based on weather and holidays).
Established in 2010 in St. Joseph, Minnesota, Muscle Car Mafia brought together friends and family that truly live a lifestyle centered on cars and trucks with American made vintage or modern horsepower.
NextX Car Club can trace its roots back to 1999 when a group of local auto enthusiasts attending SCSU decided to form a car club.
